Important Instructions for Distance Learning & Online Learning Programs
Information provided by Shobhit Deemed-to-be University in this prospectus, on the University website, advertisements, or through any other official medium must be read in conjunction with all supplements, updates, rectifications, notices, etc., issued from time to time. Applicants, students, and other concerned parties must ensure that they are familiar with the latest information before applying for admission or engaging in any other academic or non-academic activities.
Students enrolled in any distance or online learning program at the University must adhere to all policies, instructions, guidelines, code of conduct, and other rules and regulations issued by the University. These may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Compliance with University Regulations:
- Students are required to abide by the Act, Statutes, Regulations, Ordinances, Rules, Orders, Instructions, Guidelines, Code of Conduct, and other policies (hereinafter referred to as “Rules & Regulations”) issued by the University from time to time.
- Any default or violation of the Rules & Regulations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to cancellation of admission, fines, or legal proceedings.
2. Keeping Updated with Rules and Regulations:
- Students are expected to regularly update themselves on the University’s Rules & Regulations. The University will not send individual reminders to students regarding changes or updates.
3. Communication and Notifications:
- All official communications, notifications, and announcements will be made through the University’s e-learning portal or official email/SMS systems. Students must ensure that they regularly check their registered email address and the portal for updates.
- The University shall not be held responsible for any loss of communication due to incorrect contact details provided by the student.
4. Examination and Personal Contact Programs (PCPs):
- The University reserves the right to alter the date, venue, or timing of examinations, Personal Contact Programs (PCPs), or any other academic activities when deemed necessary.
- Attendance at examinations or PCPs is mandatory. Non-attendance due to personal reasons will not entitle the student to special consideration unless valid documentation is submitted and approved by the University.
5. Code of Conduct:
- Students must conduct themselves with dignity and respect towards fellow students, faculty members, administrative staff, and visitors. Misconduct or inappropriate behavior within or outside University premises will result in disciplinary action.
- Ragging, violence, harassment, and any form of bullying, either online or in person, is strictly prohibited and punishable under the law.
6. Academic Integrity:
- Students must maintain academic integrity and refrain from plagiarism or other unethical practices. Any form of academic dishonesty, including cheating in exams, will result in penalties, including cancellation of grades or expulsion from the program.
7. Fees and Payments:
- Students must adhere to the prescribed fee structure and payment deadlines. Non-payment of fees may result in restrictions on access to online learning materials, exams, and other academic services.
- All payments should be made via the University’s official payment gateway.
8. Use of E-Learning Platform:
- Students will use the University’s official e-learning platform for accessing study materials, submitting assignments, and attending virtual lectures. Unauthorized sharing of login credentials or misuse of the platform will lead to penalties.
9. Placement Assistance:
- While the University provides placement assistance to eligible students, it does not guarantee job placement. Participation in placement activities may be subject to academic or disciplinary conditions, such as achieving a minimum CGPA or limiting the number of backlogs.
- If selected by an organization and agreed to join, students may be required to deposit a security amount to ensure commitment to the organization.
10. Health and Wellness:
- Students with any mental or physical health issues must inform the University. The University reserves the right to terminate admission if it believes the student’s health condition may affect the academic environment.
11. Use of Electronic Devices:
- The use of electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops, or recording devices is permitted only with University approval. Unauthorized use of such devices may lead to disciplinary action.
12. Prohibition of Anti-Social Activities:
- Participation in activities that are considered anti-social, political, religious, or communal is strictly prohibited, whether inside or outside the University premises. Violations may result in disciplinary action including expulsion.
13. Project and Research Work:
- Any project, dissertation, thesis, or research work carried out by the student during their time at the University will be the property of the University. The University reserves the right to use or publish such work without the student’s prior approval.
14. Disciplinary Action:
- Students found guilty of any form of misconduct, disobedience, or unethical behavior may face a range of disciplinary actions, including but not limited to suspension, expulsion, or cancellation of admission.
- The University reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings against students found in violation of any applicable laws.
15. Final Authority:
- In the event of any disputes or interpretations of the policies or instructions, the decision of the competent authority of the University will be final and binding on all concerned parties.
